To develop carbon offset methodologies for both commercial and general aviation airports that generate revenue.
Conduct research on airport noise and emissions regulations,
requirements, programs in place at U.S. airports, including the impetus
for each, legal authority and impact.
This project would plan, deploy and document an airside application of AGVT at an airport. The proposed project may be AGVT mowing, AGVT perimeter security, AGVT FOD detection, or other application assessed in ACRP 03-48.
Conduct research to update the state-of-the-science regarding the feasibility of reducing or eliminating noise in communities from aircraft departures, specifically behind the start of takeoff roll, with active noise reduction technology.
Flight procedures are a key element to predicting and minimizing noise impacts. Deviations from these procedures are causing unnecessary community noise exposure. Identifying deviation-related increases in noise and ways to minimize the deviations will help to reduce noise in communities in the vicinity of airports.
To improve the ACRP Airport Microgrid Implementation Toolkit ("the Toolkit") by updating cost and technology information with new annual data, optimizing toolkit user interface, integrating new distributed energy resource capabilities, and identifying a long-term host.
Develop guidance to identify and design the necessary features of an efficient, sustainable, comprehensive, safe maintenance facility that is customized to satisfy the needs of a given airport.
