Autonomous Ground Vehicles (AGVs) are coming... This project would develop a primer on the opportunities offered and the feasibility of widely implementing Autonomous Ground Vehicles (AGVs) at the airport - landside and airside.
As autonomous vehicles and their services propagate through an airport terminal, how will this disrupt the already crowded flow of terminal traffic. Research into the best way to regulate and direct these technologies is needed for practitioners to decide the best hierarchy of flow. These patterns of trafic should maximize safety and be based on the needs of the specific vehicles and services introduced.
Runway incursions are leading to serious accidents and incidents in airports. Evaluation of incursion risk when high speed exits are utilized is focused in this study.
The goal of this research idea is to develop a predictive model of jet blast exposure based on local parameters (taxiway slope, operating conditions, aircraft operator practices, temperature, types of aircraft, etc.).
