This synthesis would analyze the current state, feasibility, and interest of airports and the FAA to use recycled concrete aggregates as constituents in a concrete mix design of new airfield rigid concrete pavements.
Conduct research into cost effective strategies for periodic monitoring of airspace surfaces such as TERPS 20:1 surfaces to ensure they remain clear of obstructions. Particularly at smaller rural airports that may not have staff, zoning, or significant infrastructure that would otherwise make these issues easier to manage.
Update and supplement ACRP Guidebooks 37 and 37A in terms of active airport APM systems (since the publication of those guidebooks in 2010) and incorporate best practices related to planning for, minimizing, and responding to viruses within the general context of the airport APM planning and implementation (Report 37) and airport APM operations and maintenance (Report 37A).
