The objective of this research project is to develop more topic-specific in-depth training courses and materials to build upon the courses developed under the 02-61 project to create an "Airport Stormwater 201" curriculum.
Develop updated academic curriculums and requirements to cultivate airport industry professionals to meet existing and future needs.
Tangible result will result into Capacity Building in term of skilled manpower required in airport industry
Air travel is facing increasing threats to operations and facilities from climate changes, but there is not clear guidance on how airports should prepare. This study would examine the potential impacts and offer guidance on how best to defend against these threats.
We propose an ACRP guidebook and associated tools to help airports plan and implement EV charging stations. Specific topics of the guidebook could include: station siting, codes and standards, costs and benefits, pricing electricity use, payment systems, future-proofing investments, ADA requirements, signage, and incorporation with airport emission goals and airport master plan.
The end result should provide best practices that will enable airports to plan facilities (e.g. Daycare), streamline socioeconomic policies and educational programs.
Develop a guide for architects, planners and airport operators on planning and designing new low cost carrier (LCC) terminal or converting existing ones to better serve low cost carriers. Supplement existing terminal planning resources and guidelines while identifying key differences between LCC and full service terminals.
Synthesize aspects of airport characteristics that can influence the planning, design, and construction of roads and highways and provide instructive considerations for each.
