Managing a skilled aviation workforce requires objective and evidence-based people related decision making tools. Human resources (HR) analytics or people analytics provides a process to use operational and human resources specific data to assist organizations in obtaining strategic goals. Despite the many benefits of HR analytics many organizations are unable to apply these processes to their organizational needs. Providing greater insight into these powerful workforce tools to airport managers is the central motivation of this synthesis topic.

Objective (What is the desired product or result that will help the airport industry?)

The purpose of this synthesis is to identify how airport managers use HR data and analytics to include such information as: HR data collection, metrics, benchmarking, statistical and visual data analyses, and software used. The synthesis also identifies decision making practices and outcomes from organizational uses of HR analytics. Additionally, requirements for successful HR analytics implementation are developed.
